We are pleased to invite you to a meeting and a talk with European designers of urban games, to get to know a bit more about this popular method of iteration of and in urban scape as well as with its possible and diverse applications and see examples and discuss examples throughout Europe. The Urban games are a method of community development and neighborhood revitalization. Applying unorthodox and joyous approach, the urban games designers pose important topics and questions regarding the development and customization of the topos and its hidden assets to a wide audience. The al fresco games in the dynamic modern cities provide a way of getting to know each other as well as promoting new cultural products and associating a new meaning to mundane objects and interweaving them into the city fabric. The meeting at which you will be able to share ideas and experience with designers from Austria, Italy, Germany, Poland and England will be held on 12.11.2017 /Sunday/ from 15,00 till 18.00 h in the conference hall of the National Library “Ivan Vazov” in Plovdiv.

The event is part of the “Weekend of urban games “Tobacco City. Inception!” – an initiative aimed at presenting a set of games held in urban environment in the Tobacco city on 11 and 12 November 2017 and inviting all residents and guests of Plovdiv to rediscover through games the area. The weekend for urban games “Tobacco city. Inception!” is part of the flagship project “Tobacco city” of Plovdiv 2019 Foundation. The event is also a follow up of the partnership for the Tobacco City project with Matera 2019 Foundation after its start in June 2017 with the participation of the archaeologist and cultural manager Emmanuele Curti in the seminar-discussion on Industrial Archaeology dedicated to the Tobacco City.
