You have died, your soul has been shattered into a million pieces and before you can leave these earthly realms, you are trying to collect as many pieces of your soul as possible. But wait, there is something creepy lurking in the ghostly shadows, quickly hide! for if it catches you, you will be doomed to roam the world as a ghost for eternity. Paradiona is a chase & search game for up to 15 players in urban spaces. It is best played in medium sized play areas with obstacles and crevices and a mix of open and closed spaces, such as abandoned buildings with courtyards, old factories, etc. All players get portable radios at the beginning of the game. The aim of the game for all players is to collect as many LED-lights (souls) as possible within the 10-15 minutes timeframe without being caught. 2-3 players will be secretly handed radio transmitters, transmitting a monster song over a radio frequency. Their aim is to catch other players (like in a game of tag). Once they have caught another player, they hand over the radio transmitter. This player now becomes the monster and also has to catch other players. If you've been caught by a monster, you become the monster yourself. If you are the monster at the end of the game, you lose, and none of your collected souls count. Should you be able to catch another person, and hand over the radio transmitter, you return to normal and all your souls count. Players can be caught and become the monster more than once. For all players (except the last monsters) all their collected souls will be added up at the end, the person with most of them wins the game. Players can hear a monster approaching through their own radios, since the monsters are broadcasting their song of sorrow, for everyone to hear in a certain radius. Lives are also hidden (LEDs with a different colour) around the play area. If you have a life, when a monster catches you, you do not become the monster and have to hand over the life to the monster, which will get extra points for that. Players: up to 15 per round. Duration: 10 - 15 minutes per round. The game has been created by Play:Vienna and tested and played in different versions in Vienna at Play:Vienna Game Clinics and the SummerLab, at OPENdonnerstag at OPENmarx and at Playin' Siegen Festival in Siegen. https://www.facebook.com/PlayVienna/ BACK TO THE MAIN GAME PAGE
