When: 1 December 2019 at 7 pm

Where: SKLAD in the Tobacco City at 16 Ekzarh Yosif Str.

Free entry.

The voices of seventy singers intertwine as the audience walks in atmospheric dusk, exploring the historic SKLAD building. Plovdiv’s Ivan Spasov, Gaudeaumus and Academic Folk Choirs fill the once industrial space with song, including pieces written specially by Kiril Todorov, Lynne Plowman, and Daemonia Nymphe. Dancers, directed by Zhelka Tabakova, interact with the choirs and the space to give physical expression to the song magic.

The event is the latest adventure in a series of choral performances, which transform the audience's relationship with landscape and urban architecture. First created for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad, this latest edition is a collaboration between producers Paul Ackerley of Creatives Across Sussex, UK; Dessislava Stefanova of London Bulgarian Choir; Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Art, Plovdiv; University of Chichester and Fire of Orpheus Foundation. Funded by Arts Council England. The project is associated with the programme of Plovdiv 2019.
