Within 10 days (June 1-10, 2019, at SKLAD), Plovdiv hosts a series of meetings of AIM Network – a European network for meetings of independent creative initiatives or those created and led by artists. Participants in the event will be representatives from Bulgaria - artists representing their organizations, galleries, workshops, etc., as well as representatives of the network, invited from the Balkans and Europe.
The programme - based on the topic Local Connections - includes closed workshops for the participants (1-10 June, at SKLAD) as well as a series of events open to the general public (on 8 and 9 June) - exhibitions and installations in abandoned or alternative spaces of the city, a series of performances, open discussion theme: "Local / global artistic initiatives, exchange of practices and opportunities" and a closing party.
The meetings aim to bring the framework of AIM Network to Plovdiv, thus contributing to the development of local creative initiatives and creating opportunities for exchange of experiences and collaborations at the local and international level. The project will incorporate alternative venues for exhibitions, as well as galleries and spaces of various local institutions. All this will be the basis for the subsequent development of the relations created during the meetings between both the Bulgarian participants and the international network of artists presented in the project.
